Using Ventolin For Weight Loss

I have been hearing that people are using ventolin (salbutamol) for weight loss.

I absolutely disagree with using prescription drugs for anything other than what they were prescribed for. So besides how I feel about it, here are my 2 cents on how this drug could affect weight loss.

What does this do for an individal?

We'll ventolin (salbutamol) is one of the adrenalin drugs used mainly for bronchodilation in people with tight airways such as asthma. The benefits for weight loss is that adrenalin drugs besides causing bronchodilation, also increase heart rate and metabolic rate. This means your body will burn more calories when this drug is used.

How many more calories would this drug allow my body to burn?

Well when I give a patient 4 puffs of this drug some of them mention they feel shaky, which is a normal side effect, But this shaky feeling is a sign of increased metabolism, meaning more calories are being burned. I can't see it being any more effective than just consuming caffeine. So in my opion, stick to the black sugar free coffee, it's more safe and taste better.

How does caffeine affect weight loss?

Caffeine is a methylzanthine class of drug. It is similar to adrenalin drugs because it causes an increase heart rate and metabolic rate. Meaning it will increase calories being burned by the body. So stick to your cup of coffee in my opinion.
